The MLOE team is delighted to present a set of Taster Sessions, aimed at Year 12 students in Modern Languages (French and German). Each session is a stand-alone class consisting of a lesson plan, PowerPoint and additional resources. They are designed either a) to be delivered by a teacher or b) to be followed by a student in their own time.
Created by Early Career Researchers in Modern Languages across the country, these sessions introduce students to texts and topics that they might study in a university course. They develop vocabulary, grammatical structures and cultural engagement, whilst also asking participants to rethink what it means to study Modern Languages. Students are encouraged to submit short responses for publication on our blog.
Many of the sessions also link to texts already published in our text-a-week series, which can be used as preparatory or extension activities – click on the tags to find these links.
These activities will also act as springboards for live sessions, to be delivered online in the Spring. Keep an eye out for further details.
